Installation

The installation is a selection of black and white photos dating back to the first half of the 20th century and taken from a photo album belonging to the artist’s family. The series is positioned, straight line, on a wallpaper where traditional motifs of last century are also present.

The images document the artist’s family journey from Canton Jura to Canton Vaud and finally to Canton Ticino. What emerges during the conversation between the artist and her family, especially her grandmother suffering from Alzheimer’s desease, are memories.

The title comes from the word “binding” which refers to the link between the personal stories of the protagonists of the installation as well as to the will of creating a story that involves them all.
