Monasterium memorabilis is an installation realized for the exhibition Môtiers 2015 – Art en plein air.

Mrs. Bobillier, inhabitant of Môtiers, tells stories that try to retrace the identity of photos belonging to her husband suffering of Alzheimer’s disease. The images selected in the work date over a hundred years and represent scenes of the Bobillier’s family daily life.

Thanks to the photographic and verbal evidences, it was possible to produce a fiction. The main character is Dada, Mrs. Bobillier’s son-in-law. A fictionalized account of events, a mixture of real and invented situations give life to a man belonging to a family of great importance in Môtiers.

The romantic view of the village, allows the viewers to make the place’s past alive just in front of them and, as a consequence, to imagine the sociological situation through some fragments of Dada’s memories.
