This installation is a series of pencil drawings on antique furniture, based on Swiss photographs dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The landscape is meticulously depicted, and the people recognisable by their silhouettes. The drawings are always accompanied by phrases that convey a topicality that the artist wants to transmit in a metaphorical way to the older people featured in the image. It’s a way of communicating her astonishment and engraving it on wood.
The artist is influenced by her private life, world politics, the concerns of our society and the contemporary art world.
