Out of R.D.: Stratigrafia was produced as part of the solo exhibition Amnesie at the Fondazione Archivio Fotografico Roberto Donetta, Corzoneso. The artist was invited to create a project linked to the photographic work and places where the Ticino pioneer Roberto Donetta (1865-1932) lived.

To create the installation Out of R.D.: Stratigrafia, Haab, who is interested in narrative experimentation, used the dynamics of investigation derived from the historical photographic material left by Roberto Donetta, as well as her own photographs. The four large-format images (140 cm wide by 145 cm high) represent visual collages in which she digitally reelaborates the physical elements of accidents made during Donetta’s printing work as well as the abandoned walls chosen by Haab; portraits and cut-out objects emerge from a second plane of abstract and aged images. Then printed on industrial canvas, the artworks become abstract paintings which, when placed in nature or in an enclosed space, rise questions for the viewer.
